In light of the recent decision by the Andy Warhol Foundation to disband its Authentication Board after confronting expensive lawsuits, five distinguished speakers from the world of art and law, including the directors of two California artists' foundations, discuss the issues relating to the authenticating of artworks by artists' foundations and their impact on collectors and others. Panelists include: Sharon Flescher, Executive Director, IFAR; Debra Burchett-Lere, Director, The Sam Francis Foundation; Richard Grant, Executive Director, The Richard Diebenkorn Foundation; Barbara Guggenheim, Founding Partner, Guggenheim, Asher, Associates, Inc.; and Christine Steiner, Special Counsel, Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP.
